Chinese imports, after experiencing a dip in March 2024, rebounded in April, aligning with levels seen in April 2023. Furthermore, transit delays at major U.S. ports are on a downward trend. Notably, despite challenges such as the Panama drought and escalating conflicts in the Middle East, East and Gulf Coast ports have maintained stable volumes.

Comparing April 2024 to its counterpart in 2023 reveals a remarkable 9.3% increase in U.S. container imports, with April 2024 volumes totaling 2,208,849 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), representing a 3% rise from March 2024.
