The Port of Eagle Pass, Texas, is surging as the nation's fastest-growing trade hub in 2024. Analysis of Census Bureau data by WorldCity reveals Eagle Pass' trade outpacing all other US airports, seaports, and border crossings.

Located 140 miles southwest of San Antonio and connected to Piedras Negras, Mexico by rail and vehicle bridges, Eagle Pass has seen a remarkable 22% increase in trade compared to the same period in 2023.

This translates to over $11.37 billion in trade from January to March 2024. Notably, the port achieved a total trade volume of $37.14 billion in 2023.

While Eagle Pass reigns supreme in growth, Port Laredo, Texas, maintains its position as the overall leader in US trade volume, recording $79.8 billion for the first quarter of 2024 (a 2% increase).

Eagle Pass' growth is fueled by a surge in imports, particularly commercial vehicles ($2.5 billion), passenger vehicles ($2 billion), and beer ($906 million). On the export side, auto parts ($307 million), gasoline ($289 million), and soybeans ($215 million) are leading the way.
