Maersk, Hapag Lloyd Establish Agreement

Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have revealed their intention to establish the Gemini Cooperation agreement, scheduled to commence in February 2025.

Under this operational collaboration, a fleet pool of approximately 290 vessels with a combined capacity of 3.4 million TEUs will be created. Maersk will contribute 60%, while Hapag-Lloyd will provide 40% of this capacity.

The network will span seven trade lanes, including routes such as Asia – U.S. West Coast, Asia – U.S. East Coast, and Transatlantic. This initiative will encompass 58 new services and around 6,000 port-to-port combinations.
