Trucking Company Secretly Moving Meth Hidden Within Shipments of Vegetables, Unsealed Indictment Shows

A recently unsealed indictment has revealed allegations that a trucking company was secretly operating a statewide network, leading to the seizure of nearly 13,000 pounds of methamphetamine and dozens of guns.

Federal prosecutors described the organization as “sophisticated” and operational “for well over a year,” giving “the appearance of being a legitimate transportation business.”

The group allegedly used hidden compartments in trucks and cars to conceal thousands of pounds of liquid methamphetamine, which was crystalized and distributed through labs and safe houses across California.

Shipments were often tracked by Mexican suppliers using GPS devices. Prosecutors also indicated that methamphetamine was sometimes hidden in boxes of vegetables.

Court records included photos showing liquid methamphetamine in large sealed, unmarked buckets, secret compartments under car and motorcycle seats, and gas tanks.

During a search of an industrial methamphetamine processing lab in northern Los Angeles County, authorities found 790 pounds of liquid and crystalized methamphetamine.
