MyCarrier and project44 Are Fighting In Court

Over the summer, two FreightTech companies, MyCarrier and project44, became embroiled in a legal dispute in Delaware over a seven-figure, multiyear services agreement they signed in 2023.

MyCarrier, based in Arizona, provides transportation management software for shippers, while Chicago-based project44 offers visibility solutions. They had a close partnership, with MyCarrier’s technology integrated into project44’s ecosystem. However, their relationship has soured.

The conflict centers around an "Amended and Restated Master Services Agreement" from October 2023, which stipulated that project44 would provide API technology to MyCarrier under certain conditions, including a prohibition against MyCarrier developing similar products.

In June 2024, project44 accused MyCarrier of breaching this agreement by developing an electronic bill of lading (eBoL) product.

MyCarrier denied the allegations, insisting the eBoL features were not standalone but integrated into their existing platform.

MyCarrier sought a temporary restraining order, arguing that losing access to project44’s services would cause irreparable harm.

Project44 opposed this, accusing MyCarrier of violating their agreement in bad faith. Both companies are now engaged in legal proceedings, with MyCarrier expressing confidence in a favorable outcome, while project44 remains committed to enforcing its contractual rights.
