Waabi and Volvo Team Up To Build Self-Driving Trucks

Toronto-based autonomous truck technology company Waabi announced a strategic partnership with Volvo Autonomous Solutions on Tuesday to co-develop and deploy autonomous trucks. The collaboration combines Waabi's generative AI innovations with Volvo’s autonomous truck, the Volvo VNL Autonomous.

This partnership involves the vertical integration of Waabi’s virtual driver system, the Waabi Driver, into Volvo’s autonomous truck, which features redundant systems for safe operation.

Raquel Urtasun, founder and CEO of Waabi, emphasized that this is not a retrofit. Instead, the trucks will be fully integrated, coming off the factory line equipped and ready to operate.
