Not So Rosy: Meth Bust At Border 🥀

Valentine's Day turned sour for a truck driver who found himself caught with illicit goods hidden among a shipment of flowers.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday, February 6th, at the World Trade Bridge. A Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer flagged a 2004 Freightliner truck pulling a refrigerated trailer supposedly carrying a commercial shipment of roses for further inspection.

Upon secondary inspection, both a canine unit and non-intrusive inspection methods, CBP officers uncovered a staggering 1,033.96 pounds of suspected methamphetamine concealed within the cargo.

Officers from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, stationed at the World Trade Bridge, intercepted these hard narcotics, estimating their street value to exceed $9,500,000.
