Eleven people were indicted in connection with a large-scale cargo theft in Arizona. On February 11, 2025, Noe Cecena-Castro and ten others were charged with possession of stolen goods after nearly 2,000 pairs of unreleased Nike shoes were stolen from a BNSF train in Northern Arizona on January 13, 2025.
The theft occurred after the train was stopped due to a cut air hose in Perrin, Arizona. Law enforcement later found two trucks near the scene, containing 1,985 pairs of Nike shoes worth over $440,000. The thieves had planned to transport the stolen goods to California.
Authorities explained that criminal organizations use cut air hoses to halt trains at specific locations, steal cargo, and then transport it.
