Driver Sentenced For Mikes Hard Lemonade Heist

A New York truck driver's thirst for Mike's Hard Lemonade landed him behind bars.

Kelvin Garcia Liriano, 28, from New Rochelle, New York, recently received a six-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to grand larceny in the second degree. His crime? Stealing a tractor-trailer loaded with 1,560 cases of the popular alcoholic beverage, worth nearly $33,000.

The sentencing took place on Friday at the Westchester County Court in White Plains, New York, following Liriano's guilty plea in November. Once released from prison, he will face five years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay a staggering restitution of nearly $43,000.

According to court documents, Liriano admitted to stealing the tractor-trailer full of Mike's Hard Lemonade on March 21, 2023, from a parking lot near Interstate 87 in Yonkers, New York.

Investigators state that Liriano then drove the rig to Brooklyn, where it was later found abandoned, its cargo missing. Court records reveal that law enforcement apprehended Liriano nearly a month later, on April 17, 2023, bringing his lemonade larceny to an end.
