DHL Puts 50 Orange EV Yard Trucks To Work

DHL made headlines in 2015 as the first major company to introduce an all-electric class 8 yard truck into service. Fast forward to today, DHL boasts a fleet of 50 electric yard trucks from Orange EV in its logistics operations, with a commitment to completely transition away from diesel trucks by 2025.

Presently, these electric yard trucks are operational at over 30 DHL Supply Chain sites across the United States. Notably, the initial electric yard trucks introduced by DHL, affectionately known as "Sparky I" and "Sparky II," have accumulated over 24,000 and 17,000 hours of operation, respectively, all while still utilizing their original battery packs.

Last month, DHL Supply Chain announced plans to double its existing electric yard truck fleet, aiming to reach a total of 100 all-electric Orange EV class 8 trucks within the next two years, thus eliminating diesel trucks entirely from its operations.
