CBP Officers Seize $888K In Cocaine From Semi At Rio Grande

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) foiled a drug smuggling attempt at the Rio Grande City Port of Entry in Texas.

CBP officers selected a tractor-trailer hauling an empty trailer for a closer look. Canine units sniffed out a hidden stash – 28 packages containing nearly 67 pounds of suspected cocaine. The drugs have an estimated street value of over $888,000.

CBP turned over the vehicle, the drugs, and the driver to a state and local task force dedicated to combating high-intensity drug trafficking (HIDTA).
