$2 Million In Drugs Stashed With Shipment of Shelves

CBP officers in Tecate, California, uncovered over $2 million worth of drugs on Thursday. During a routine inspection of a box truck carrying "resin shelves," officers noticed anomalies and referred the vehicle for further examination.

A non-intrusive inspection and a K-9 team confirmed suspicions of narcotics. CBP officers then discovered a hidden compartment within the shelves containing 66 packages.

These packages, totaling 1,163.42 pounds, revealed a mix of methamphetamine and cocaine with an estimated street value of $2 million.
